EndoSystem Medical successfully held the 3rd AOS seminar: endoscopic thyroidectomy session

On the evening of Jun.,26, the 3rd AOS (The Art of Surgery) seminar, endoscopic thyroidectomy session was held online. This seminar was honored to invite Pro. Xie Lei from Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Prof. Yi MaoLin from Huanggang Central Hospital, Prof. Zheng ZhengRong from The Second Affiliated Hospital of FuJian Medical University, Prof. Luo DingYuan from Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-Sen University, Pro. Jiang JinWei from Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine,Prof. Chen Chao from Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, Prof. Huang Liyong from Fuzhou First Hospital and Prof. Wang Bing from The 900 Hospital of the Joint Service Support Force of the People's Liberation Army of China to share and discuss clinical research experience in endoscopic thyroidectomy.


The seminar was presided over by Prof. Xie Lei. In the opening session, Prof. Xie Lei extended a warm welcome to the participants from all over China and introduced the theme of the seminar, and pointed out that, endoscopic thyroidectomy is a very important part and research hotspot in thyroid surgery. At present, there are three main approaches for endoscopic thyroid surgery: thoracic approach, transoral approach, and transaxillary approach. Among them, transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy can achieve better radical treatment effect. One of the main differences between endoscopic thyroid surgery and traditional open surgery is that assistants can perform antagonistic stretching well in traditional open surgery to perform delicate operations, while the antagonistic stretching in endoscopic thyroid surgery often has a certain degree of difficulty.


In the section of keynote speech, Prof. Yi MaoLin and Prof. Zheng ZhengRong respectively gave speeches on Difficulties And Management of Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular and Exploration of Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve in Endoscopic Thyroid Surgery, in order to share their valuable clinical experience and surgical skills.


In the end, Prof. Luo DingYuan,Pro. Jiang JinWei, Pro. Chen Chao, Pro. Huang LiYong and Pro. Wang Bing also delivered wonderful speeches to the today’s topics in-depth discussion and exchange, the atmosphere was warm, and the seminar was a complete success.
